
Elephant Safari Tour (F01) We will visit an elephant camp where we will watch an elephant Show and then have an elephant safari, riding majestically for an hour into the forest. After this adventure let me take you to visit a Lisu Hill Tribe followed by Ox Cart Riding. We will then return to the Elephant Camp for some lunch. In the afternoon we can do some bamboo rafting. the water is not deep or fast running and this is very safe so don’t worry it is completely suitable for adults and kids!! |

We start with a lovely drive to Thaton, two hours North of Chiang Mai. On the way make a stop at Chiang Dao Caves, then drive on to Thaton. Visit Thaton Temple, Lunch at a local restaurant on the banks of the Mae Kok River. After lunch, visit the village of Long Neck Karen or Padong People. Also visit Lahu and Akha tribes, then return to Chiang Mai in the late afternoon On the way back to Chiang Mai the last stop will be made at an orchid farm. Drive through the picturesque mountains North from Chiang Mai with a stop at the hot springs where you can even cook eggs in the boiling water! We then continue the drive to Chiang Rai (the most Northern Province of Thailand) and visit Chiang Saen, the ancient city located on the Maekong River. Then visit the Golden Triangle where three countries meet and was world famous, and infamous, for the opium trade and smuggling of opium. After that travel to Mae Sai, the border between Thailand and Myanmar/Burma. Visit some Hill Tribes, Karen Longneck, Akha and “Big Ear” Hill Tribe Villages. After pick up from hotel, you will be taken to a local market to buy the ingredients you will need in learning how to cook Thai food.
